The Redestination Paradox Stage 6: Playtest no.3

Round 3 of playtesting went quite well.

A few more issues came to light.

Board Design:

The board design was well liked, however the patterns of light distracted too much from the play area itself. The solution to this will be to work with the opacity of the background image while reducing, but not dulling, the lighter colours. (see below)

Slow to Start:

The game itself can be slow to start if you don’t roll high; one play-through took 3 rolls to reach the first branching timeline. I will discuss a fix for this in the section bellow.

Random Occurrences:

 The main issue to arise in this playthrough was the lack of Radom Occurrences. Some playthroughs would happen without a single card being picked. For this reason I will be adding extra Random Occurrence squares to the board; this will also make the beginning moves more interesting. This will also serve to up the dificulty somewhat at the end of the game.

I will also be adding more cards and changing some of the already existing ones to allow for more positive outcomes. I will add these new cards to the next stage upload.
